Birds of Galacia 1

Here are some of the various species of birds from the realm of Galacia. Cataloged for the avid avian enthusiast's convenience.

Back Row - From left to right:

Great Blue Heron: A large, long necked, water bird that enjoys the marshy areas of Galacia. Mainly a bird of Willowstone, the Great Blue Heron has been spotted in the western kingdom of Gannetgul.

Royal Peacock: Birds associated with the high queen of Willowstone since the rule of Anora the Just. The royal peacock is noted for it's rich and colorful plumage.

Fangom Vulture: A carrion feeder from the wastes of Fangom, a small and desolate kingdom to the south of Willowstone. The fangom vultures are notes for nesting in the scraggly trees of the marsh. Their wail sounds disturbingly human, and can be unnerving to travelers in the swamps.

Black Moa: An almost legendary bird of myth, the large flightless black moa is an imported species from the far-off land of Tyria. Black moa birds are known for their ill temper and sharp talons. Sightings of the black moa are swapped amongst travelers as campfire stories.

Middle Row - From left to right:

Willowstonian Swan: A native species to Willowstone, this graceful waterfowl can be found along the banks of the peaceful creeks and streams of Willowstone.

Simple Blue Jay: A common bird throughout all of Galacia.

Red-tailed Tantangle: A rare bird said to bring good fortune to those who are able to catch it and pluck a feather from it's flowing tail. Even rarer is the teal-tailed variety.

White-breasted Bluebles: A common field bird found mainly in the northern regions of Galacia.

Front Row - From left to right:

Stillmoss Swallow: A common bird found all along the southern fields and eastern coast of Willowstone. These small birds build nests in trees and the eaves of structures by creating nests from a mixture of dirt and their saliva.

Golden Finkle: A common bird through out the more temperate southern regions of Galacia.
