Designer thoughts
"The upper part of Y resembles the branches of a divining rod. The lower part merges into a single branch, like the stem on the divining rod that reacts to underground water sources if the rod is held in sensitive hands. Y, which figuratively either shows separate roads that go in different directions or, depending on how you see it, symbolises two roads that join and merge into a single road. Y can also represent a figure, stretching its arms to the sky to greet the morning sun and invite it to light up everyone's life. Y is an ancient symbol that appears in many different cultures. Here it’s been used to create a pattern, recorded with my pencil, as visible testimony of the handicraft of the shape.”
