Sight Unseen
One of the golf courses dotting Lincoln Park right across from the Palace of Legion of Honour. This shot was taken late afternoon as the sun is heading down west on the horizon. Not shown in this shot is the view of the Golden Gate Bridge to the right of this spot.
According to Wikipedia, the land on which this park stands was a cemetery in use in the late 1860s and possibly earlier. In 1902, golf enthusiasts laid out a three-hole course on part of the land. In 1909, the Board of Supervisors turned the land over to the Parks Commission, and cemetery relocation began.
Anyway, I did the usual contrast / saturation adjustments with this shot, and after the processing i noticed that the left and the right side of the shot show blurred movement, like there is a camera shake (I shot this scene handheld after all) - yet the center of this shot looks steady enough. That 'camera shake' effect renders this whole scene with a cool yet spooky effect - in a way that it reminds me of that opening scene from the 80s cult series 'Tales from the Dark Side". Was hoping to see a ghost in this shot but disappointingly there's none :(
Finally, I ran Photoshop HDR Toning to give this shot a little kick in the tone/texture department.
Happy weekend, my friends!
