LA's Finest

A fire broke out about 300 yards from our compound yesterday. The fire department responded immediately with 5 helicopters, 250 firefighters, numerous trucks, and a fire retardant dropping airplane. We prepared to evacuate according to our evacuation plan. We loaded 40 dogs, 45 cats, 4 parrots, and 2 monkeys in our evac. trailers. We parked in the shade at our compound and waited. An officer from the sheriff's department parked at our facility prepared to give us the evacuation order. The firemen quickly got the fire under control, and fortunately, we never had to drive out. I'd like to thank the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Sheriff Department for their quick and efficient work. Happily, the animals were safely back in their homes before sundown.
