2008 Shichi-Go-San

In Japan, children ages 3, 5 and 7 dress in kimono and go to their local shrine in November. On Sunday, Nov. 9th, Nina (age 3) dressed up in the same kimono that Rie wore when she was a girl. Rie also wore her own kimono. Nina hated the idea at first, but once she finally got the kimono on she didn't want to take it off. We were quite a site in Korakuen Garden. Nina even upstaged 2 real Maiko from Kyoto, who were in the Garden for a photoshoot.
