Slains castle

This is New Slains castle which was built in 1597 to replace the old castle that was destroyed in 1594 and located further south on the coastline in Aberdeenshire.

It is said that the two castles inspired Bram Stokers castle for dracula when he was staying in near by Cruden Bay.

Plans to restore the castle have been on hold for a number of years. Personally i like it the way it is.
