Squat - starting position
Stand with feet just outside shoulder width and toes slightly pointed out. Hands can be on hips, out in front of body or laced behind the head (prisoner squats). Lower hips by dropping them down and back. Stick hips and chest out to aid the movement. Lower to 90° and raise back up.
Key points:
-Keep knees behind toes.
-Widen stance if movement is limited by flexibility.
-Engage core to ensure back stays flat.
-Push through heels when raising hips.
