Western Tanager

Beaver Lake Road - Kelowna, B.C., June 25th

My birding friend Keith lent me his Canon 70D/ Canon 100-400 setup for thirty minutes, and this is the first good shot I took with it. I climbed up the side of the road, where there was some avian action, and from out of nowhere, this stunning Western Tanager flew right past me, and landed on a perfect horizontal branch for a photo shoot! Dripping in yellow and red, this bird is gorgeous.

Thank you, Keith, for the usage of your unit; it was thrilling, especially at this point!
