Vespa crabro Linnaeus, 1758 ♀
Captured back in May in the Ardennes region, on the French side. It was in the process of building a nest right next to the house and we weren't exactly thrilled at the idea of having such neighbors.
Still feeling bad about killing it, even though we found several other dead queens inside the house. :(
Specimen has been prepared by my cousin.

- Pentax-m 50mm f1.7 lens set at f5.6
- ISO 100
- Extension Tube 7mm
- $30 linear rail with a Nema17 step motor also controlled by the RPi3
