211. ragged robin

I truly did not have a clue what this flower was....lucky for me I took the pic on a fantastic farm where every plant had a tag with the name on it. The full name is....ready? "Caryophyllaceae Lychnis flos-cuculi `Petit Jenny`"

Ragged-Robin is much loved by butterflies – among them our Common Blue - and long-tongued bees who feed on the nectar produced by the plant. Sadly, Ragged-Robin is no longer as common as it once was due to the draining of marsh and wetlands.
