Favorite Marvel Movies part 2: 12-7
This post will contain my 12-7 favorite Marvel movies, and spoilers for them all. Please note that this list is completely opinionated.
12: The Incredible Hulk
I like this movie a lot more than I probably should. The villain is actually interesting and has good motives, the buildup for the Hulk is exciting, and I actually like Edward Norton as Bruce Banner. The graphics are a bit dated, but watching this movie as a kid, I thought the Hulk was real.
11: Captain America the First Avenger
The story, the music, the action, the costumes, the actors; everything is on point in this movie. My only complaint is that it’d be longer with more Howling Commando missions.
10: Ant Man
This is probably one of Marvel’s funniest movies. Louis steals every scene he’s in, and Paul Rudd’s performance as Scott Lang is great. I was introduced to Ant Man being Hank Pym, so it was a bit confusing to see someone else in the suit the first time I saw the movie. The villain is terrible though.
9: Black Panther
I need to see this movie again to get a full opinion on it, but seeing it the first time way back in February was a great experience. Killmonger is probably the best MCU villain to date, Chadwick Boseman (probably spelled that wrong) does great as T’Challa, and seeing the Tolkien White Guys was cool too. My main complaint with the movie is small and kind of insignificant, but I think the CG in the final fight is sloppy. Speaking of the final fight, it takes place in an Underground Railroad O_o
8: Iron Man
This movie and Black Panther are kind of in the same spot, but I’ve seen Iron Man multiple times and have a firm grasp on my thoughts about it. The story is great, RDJ kills it as Tony and should get an Oscar for his performance, the supporting characters are well done, and despite having a mediocre and forgettable villain, Iron Monger is pretty good.
7: Captain America Civil War
This movie makes me think that the Russo Brothers are the best pick for directing Infinity War. They did such a good job with this movie. The pacing, balancing character involvement, the airport fight scene, and the emotional final battle between Stark and Cap are all great, but Black Panther is the best part of the movie, hands down. I actually like his costume in this movie more than in the Black Panther movie.
What do you think of my list? Leave your thoughts down below! Movies 6-1 are tomorrow, so stay tuned for that!
