The Eco-Rally 2009 by Driver Tracey Smith

What an amazing event this was!

A whole stack of green vehicles and planet loving celebs (and me) drove from Brighton to London on Monday 8th June to help celebrate Green Transport Day!

The event culminated with Boris Johnson greeting the cars and drivers at City Hall and WhatCar? unveiled their choice for Green Car of the Year....

...turns out it was the car I was given to drive for the day! The Volvo S40 DrivE....how amazing was that!

You'll be pleased to know we had a packed car for the journey too. Duncan from Volvo looked after us all, Alex Hartley, the amazing event organiser extraordinaire had a well earned rest in the back seat and my smashing co-driver, Joe Wadsworth from www.Firewinder.com was a joy to share the journey with.

All in all, a great event, highlighting the many different technologies NOW available to help you get from A to B without the CO2.

PS: Don't forget, Car Sharing is still important, as is better planning of your journeys too if we're all to make a strikingly positive difference to the environment and our pockets..
