Happy Halloween! I suppose a black widow spider would be more fitting, but this Banded Garden Spider will have to do. She's certainly more colorful, and she's bigger than a black widow, too -- about 3/4 inch long, with a leg span of nearly two inches.
Did you know? ALL spiders are venomous! But only a select few (such as the widow spiders) have both fangs strong enough to penetrate skin and venom toxic enough to harm humans -- which is why most spiders, like this one here, are considered harmless.
