Jewel in the sand

Spring weather in Colorado is fickle (it's snowing today!) but on warm days the insects are already appearing, including my favorite flashy little tiger beetles. This colorful Blowout Tiger beetle (Cicindela lengi) was particularly cooperative for photos!
