Klassische Züge des Einzelwagenverkehrs gehören in Deutschland leider zu einer aussterbenden Gattung. DB Cargo würde das Angebot am liebsten sofort einstellen, da es zu aufwändig und verlustbringend ist. Rein betriebswirtschaftlich betrachtet ist das nachvollziehbar. Über den Tellerrand hinaus geblickt natürlich nicht, werden doch zahlreiche LKW-Fahrten vermieden, welche die Straßen verstopfen und weniger umweltfreundlich sind. Auf der KBS 880 sind noch etliche gemischte Güterzüge zu beobachten, insbesondere im Verkehr von und nach Österreich. Rein innerdeutsch war am 13. Juni 2025 die 185 271 unterwegs. Sie bespannte den EZ 50819 von Nürnberg Rbf nach Plattling und konnte von mir kurz vor Parsberg in der Oberpfalz mit bunt gemischten Frachten fotografiert werden.
Unfortunately, traditional single-wagon transport is becoming a dying breed in Germany. DB Cargo would prefer to discontinue the service immediately, as it is too costly and loss-making. From a purely economic point of view, this is understandable. However, this does not take into account the fact that it avoids numerous lorry journeys, which congest the roads and are less environmentally friendly. A number of mixed freight trains can still be seen on the KBS 880 line, particularly in traffic to and from Austria. Purely within Germany, the 185 271 was on the move on 13 June 2025. It hauled the EZ 50819 from Nuremberg Rbf to Plattling and I was able to photograph it shortly before Parsberg in the Upper Palatinate with a colourful mix of freight.
