Die Zeit der lokbespannten Züge im Allgäu läuft unweigerlich ab, ebenso die der Baureihe 218 im aktiven Dienst. Deswegen war mir am Abend des 27. April 2018 als Abschluss eines recht erfolgreichen Foto-Ausfluges die 218 497 eine fahrzeugorientierte Aufnahme wert. Sie bespannte die RB 57444 nach Kempten HBF und hat am Aufnahmeort Görwangs bald ihr Ziel erreicht. Hergestellt bei MaK in Kiel startete die Lok im Mai 1979 ihre Karriere in Lübeck und blieb bis ins Jahr 2000 im hohen Norden. Nach Zwischenstationen in Kaiserslautern, Darmstadt und Frankfurt-Griesheim ist sie nun seit 2015 in Kempten beheimatet.
The time of passenger trains hauled by locomotives at the Allgäu region will come to an end soon. Also will the class 218 engines quit their services in a nearer future. So I decided to take a more locomotive-oriented picture of 218 497 hauling regional train RB 57444 to Kempten. Build by manufacturer MaK at Kiel the engine started its career at Lübeck and stayed in the northern parts of Germany until the year 2000. After stops at the depots of Kaiserslautern, Darmstadt and Frankfurt-Griesheim it is now at home in DB Regio's depot in Kempten since 2015.
