Ein Klassiker im mittleren Rheintal ist natürlich der DGS 59941 von Langenfeld nach Wassertrüdingen - besser bekannt unter der Bezeichnung Henkelzug oder Shampoo-Express. Am 20. April 2017 begegnete mir diese Leistung bei Assmannshausen, geführt von 140 432. Der Betreiber BayernBahn besitzt zwar Loks in attraktiverem Farbschema und besserem Pflegezustand, die Patina und die Kampfspuren vom jahrzehntelangen Einsatz der Einheits-E-Lok haben aber auch ihren Reiz. Links im Bild die Clemenskapelle und die Burg Reichenstein, der Rhein hatte zum Aufnahmezeitpunkt Niedrigwasser.
At the 20th of April 2017 I took this picture near Assmannshausen at the valley of the Rhine river. It shows freight train DGS 59941 from Langenfeld to Wassertrüdingen. This train can be seen regularly from Mondays to Fridays on this track. Its nickname is Henkel-train or shampoo-express because of the fact that the Henkel-company is transporting goods between two production sites of personal-care products via rail. The freight train was hauled by BayernBahn's 140 432. This company operates machines in a more attraktive livery and condition but this engine shows some patina and "battle scars" of the many years that were already spent on German rails. On the left side you can see the chapel of St. Clemens and the castle of Reichenstein.
