in June 1991 Steve Harper was asked to create a new concept for Aston-Martin. This design, inspired by the classic DB4 Zagato, was based upon a 6 cylinder engine in an Escort RS Cosworth floorpan, and was part of the DB7 programme, which eventually chose the cheaper option to use the Jaguar XJS platform, from which the final design, by Ian Callum, was developed
