NetApp Insight Balance (formerly Akorri's BalancePoint). WInner of the 2010 and 2011 Storage Magazine's Storage Management Tool Product of the Year.
This IT software provides a look at SAN (storage area network) and server performance inside the data center. "What needs the admin's attention right now?" This design attempts to answer that by promoting troublesome hardware and VMs to the dashboard giving historical context and root cause information for each resource type. The storage area provides time-series analysis "root cause" answers; instead of showing "what's hot" in the SAN right now, this design actually only shows "abnormally hot" storage disk groups and provides a report on "bullies and victims" -- the workloads responsible for the hot disk group. Abnormal is the keyword: sometimes, devices are supposed to be hot - it is when they are NOT supposed to be hot and they are that it becomes golden dashboard content to show.
