Had a bit of spare time

Thought I might have a go at converting an old SLR camera into a lamp.

The camera is a Pentax S1a dating from the 1960`s. The shutter release mechanism no longer works. The M42 lens is a Hanimex 135mm f2.8 lens. The lens still functions and I used it with an adapter on my DSLR a few years ago. The small tripod is a charity shop buy.

I had to buy the LED lamp, lamp holder, cable and switch. A hole was drilled in the base plate of the camera to fit the mains cable gland. A small amount of surgery was required inside the camera in order to route the cable. The lamp holder fitted perfectly once I had removed the film rewind handle and knob.
