Factors Walk walkways
The shot was taken on River Street in downtown Savannah,Georgia's historic district.The street shown here is in an area called Factors Walk where there are a series of iron walkways connecting businesses on two or three story buildings.Back in the the mid- 1850s,Savannah was the leading exporter of Savannah for the entire world.There were men who were responsible for setting prices for cotton and other exports called "factors",hence the area's name.
There are also ghost tours conducted in Factors Walk because,supposedly,there have been sightings of paranormal,dark shadowy figures from times past lurking about its streets š»
