EAA Museum Oshkosh
Oshkosh in Wisconsin is the home of the Experimental Aircraft Association The museum is next to the HQ building and contains an amazing array of home build, warbird and historic light aircraft. In addition, it is next to a grass strip airfield called Pioneer Airport whose hangars contain a large collection of flyable early aircraft. There are also dedicated hangars for Steve Wittman (after whom Oshkosh Airport is named) and Bernard Pietenpol, two early home builders.
The museum is open throughout the year and flying events are held at Pioneer Airport,
During the annual EAA Convention held in July, several other museum aircraft which are normally held in storage are displayed around the airfield.
