- If I had a garden...

If I had a garden, my choices wouldn't be exotic flowers or flowers unknown to most people.

Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by fragile flowers, but in many parts of the world they are a symbol of resistance.

My garden would have Poppies, Cornflowers, Pansies, Forget-me-not, Lily of the Valley, Cosmos, Daisies and Roses.

I love poppies, but unfortunately here they have to be grown and they bloom at the end of our Winter and beginning of Spring.

I am not trying to appropriate a symbol sacred to many European nations.

For me, the fragility of this flower is intimately linked to the delicacy of the spirit, and to many attributes that my country is sorely in need of, today more than ever.

I ask permission from my friends in Europe and around the world to dedicate this image to our president-elect yesterday, and who for me and just over half of our people, represents the return of hope, the acceptance of minorities, respect for diversity, the attempt to put an end to institutional racism, and to leverage once again respect for nature and native peoples.

This is a cry of resistance, of deep contempt for the current of hatred that has plagued the country in the last four years, contaminating so many... unfortunately.

May God bless us and especially our new president.

I thank everyone who will try to understand this thrilled text and allow me to use this symbol.

Peace!
