Silver leaf is an arbustive species originating in the Chihuahua desert in North America. It features branched ramage with ornamental foliage and flowering.

Flowers are lonely, tubular and can be white, pink, purple or blue, according to variety. Flowering occurs after summer rains.

 

From very low maintenance the silver leaf is an excellent choice for rocky gardens of desert inspiration. But its beauty can also be enjoyed, in several garden styles as it is a very versatile bush, vegetating well in vases as well.

 

Curiosity: The leaves and dried flowers make a tasty and slightly calming and sedative tea. Good for bedtime.
