- Angel's hair - (1)

Calliandra brevipes, also known as Esponjinha (Little sponge) or Cabelo-de-anjo (Angel's hair) is a species of shrub up to 2 meters high, subfamily Mimosoideae.

It is a species native to South America, more specifically to Brazil, Uruguay and northern Argentina.

It naturally inhabits humid places and riverbanks, supporting the force of flood waters and temporary submersion (rheophile species).

It has flowers with very showy stamens, white on the lower half and pink or equally white on the upper half.

It is considered a shrub of great ornamental quality due to its foliage and abundant flowering at different times of the year, being also indicated for the formation of hedgerows, as you can see in the second photo.

It seems this plant loves our Winter ;)
