Some of my friends on Flickr have been asking me where I took so many photos of orchids, or if I cultivate them myself.
As I mentioned earlier all these photos were taken at the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro.
Our Botanical Garden hosts orchid growers to display and sell specimens of their beautiful flowers twice a year: in April / May to display the autumn blooming, and between September / October to display other species that bloom in the spring.
You should know that orchids usually flower only once a year, or every two years, because some are very "temperamental", they feel change of environment, etc, etc ...
Outside of the environment where the best exemplars are displayed and awarded, there are a sales sector.
I put this picture of one of the sellers of the May exhibition, just so you can gauge the variety of colors.
The perfume is extraordinary...
