Carabus auronitens - shallow stack, helicon method C
Four photos stacked to provide a shallower stack of this colourful beetle, focusing attention on the elytra, pronotum and head and not so much on the legs and other extremities. All depends what you want to see in a beetle photo, I guess! For anyone struggling to produce decent stacked insects like me, I have just found that using 'Method C' with Helicon software renders the antennae and legs of insects etc with fewer artefacts - ghosting, broken lines etc - than using Method B, which is what many YouTubers say works best... I suppose it's often better to experiment for oneself rather than to slavishly follow the admonitions of others... ; )
