Contax Tix | Fuji Nexia A200

The little Contax Tix continues to surprise and delight. Let's be honest, APS film was a terrible idea. However, the Carl Zeiss lens on this camera (Sonnar 2.8/28 T*) was the best ever put onto an APS camera.

This camera is really useful for travel photography and candid snaps - particularly when you're travelling light; and you know what? Often, that type of photography is cool too.

I have a stash of APS film in my freezer:

Kodak Advantix 200 (EI100)

Fuji Nexia A200 (EI125)

Agfa APS Star 200 (EI100)

Agfa APS Star 400 (EI100)

I get all my films developed and scanned in Gunn's Cameras, 16 Wexford St., Dublin 2 for €9.50 each - a bargain.

Superb service; expert staff.

I use Aperture on my Mac to tweak the scans; extra definition, saturation and vibrancy, extra shadow brightening and a little cropping of highlights/contrast where necessary.

Yes, APS is a terrible format, but my goodness is it convenient, and I don't mind the time spent in post.
