A Flock Of Avocets

I saw a couple of avocets once during spring migration. They were both in breeding colors. Last week was my first time to see a flock of them during fall migration. All but one is in their winter colors. One didn't get the memo and still has a rusty head and neck. They were absolutely beautiful as they fed in the shallow lake water.
