Fly Death Fungi View 2

Did some research on this. A part of the fungus grows into the part of the fly's brain that controls behavior. It forces the fly to land on a surface and climb upwards. "When it is critically ill, it tends to crawl to a high point, straighten its hind legs and open its wings, a behavior that ensures that the fungal spores are dispersed as widely as possible." Looks like that is the stage this fly has reached. The fly dies in 5 to 7 days after infection.
