Surveying His Territory
When he finished his song, he looked his territory over again. I wanted him to turn around and show off that colorful back. It would look like paint had been thrown on it with bright yellow, green, orange, red and blue colors. But he never turned & ended up flying over our heads with no warning. The only other time he sang while I was there, he was hidden behind leaves so all you could see was a tiny spot of red. Still, I am absolutely thrilled to have finally had a painted bunting encounter.
