P-40 Warhawk

The Curtiss fighter-bomber P-40 Warhawk was first made in 1938, and was the signature aircraft of 1st American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, the Flying Tigers. You can read more about them here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Tigers

 

The Wings Over Dallas WWII Air Show today was devoted to WWII vintage planes. This was a thrilling, inspiring event. During the day they broadcast live-interviews with veteran pilots who actually flew these now-vintage planes in WWII, like Lt. Col Dick Cole (100 yrs old) who is the last surviving Doolittle Raider.
