Long Rifle Exhibit
Images from the award-winning exhibit, "The Golden Age of an American Art Form: the Lancaster Long Rifle," which was on display in the Visitor Center Gallery from March, 2012, until June, 2013. Over 60 firearms--drawing from public and private collections, including the vast "Kindig" collection, as well as some of our own pieces--told the story of the long rifle's transition from a showy, not-very-accurate Jaeger rifle to a highly effective and beautiful piece of American weaponry produced in Lancaster and surrounding counties. The exhibit recently won the Award of Merit from the American Association for State and Local History's Leadership in History Awards.
