Toa Onuku V3
After 11 months of building, nine hours of 3D modelling (you can order his mask for yourself here!), and probably far too many Bricklink orders, may I present... Toa Onuku V3! Before we go much further, there\'s a few people I want to thank. First of all, dviddy, a fantastic MOCist I look up to who wasn\'t afraid to honestly critique V2. Though at the time I\'ll admit I was a little offended, this MOC wouldn\'t have turned out half as great without him. Secondly, DA\'s TheCreeperIV who helped me figure out a good staff design. You guys are great and I couldn\'t have done it without you, not to mention the hundreds of you out there who offered their comments, favorites, and support throughout this long development process.
Some of you may feel you\'ve already seen Onuku in all his glory, but there have been a few changes since the last WIP photo, namely a completely rebuilt waist (so glad I finally ditched that Metru chestplate), a few color corrections, and a whole lot of gap filling. He\'s a pretty solid creation now, and I\'m proud of how he turned out.
For those of you unacquainted with Onuku\'s story, he originates from the far southern island of Kordak Nui where he, along with Irohka, Ourus, and others distinguished themselves in fending off a Dark Hunter invasion. These six Matoran were selected to be Makuta Kojol\'s Toa Hagah and served him well for many years... until one day, at a meeting on Xia, Kojol was mysteriously killed, and the Toa were given his final assignments, from which many of them never returned. The last survivors, Onuku and Ourus, fled towards Metru Nui, however, they hardly made it there before Ourus too was killed and Onuku was captured by Bohrok in the Archives. Enslaved and mutated, he upgraded the Bohrok with his mechanical knowledge under the name of "Builder."
