How To: Skull Spider Revamp

This little "tablescrap" has proved quite popular, both here and on DA. I've even seen a few people give it their own try, such as formanjalen and vahki6 (which looks admittedly more stable and even retains its ability to attach to a head!). And since they are just going on three little images and a lot of guesswork, I thought I'd post a How To on this little guy.

A few building tips:

I think everyone has figured out the legs by now, but if not, all you have to do is push the wide end of the lever handle through the rectangular space in the binoculars. Using the side without the stud hole is easier, but it still takes a bit of force.

Make sure when assembling the head/inner structure that you push the wrench piece in as far as shown before attaching the eye. It is important for correctly attaching it later.

The head/inner structure is not attached to the shell, not even by friction. It is just wedged in between the ridge on the inside of the shell's chin and the clip on the top. It is then held in place by one of these and then a boat stud. Attach the clip first and angle it upwards away from the inner structure as far as possible before attaching the boat stud.

The legs can really be arranged in any way you desire. You don't even have to use the claws I used here. However, I like to keep the smaller claws on the inside with the wider claws out (or forward when I took the original pictures). They can then be posed by rotating and angling the levers to the right position.
