Built in 2016 by Nichols Brothers Boat Builders of Langley, Washington, for the American Samoa government as a multi-purpose ferry and cargo vessel.
Construction began in the fall of 2015 for the vessel, which will sail between Tutuila and the Manu’a Islands. The vessel will have an enclosed, air-conditioned area that will seat 120 passengers. Construction was funded with $8.6 million in Capital Improvement Project funding from the US Interior Department and $5 million from the American Samoa Economic Development Authority.
