Sissi the surfer

 

"Sissi", the former Empress of Austria,

often visited Hallstatt. By today's standards,

she was a modern and emancipated woman.

 

She smoked in public, would walk in the woods,

bathe naked in the lake and had little concern

for court etiquette.

 

Hunting was the favorite pastime of her husbund,

the Emperor. Countless stags and chamois were

killed by his bullets.
