Mired in a particularly disturbing, unhealthy and bizarre fetishism (commendable, at least, for its imperturbable consistency), this photostream nevertheless manages on occasion to rise to new levels which transcend the innate, almost morbidly obsessive vision of the photographer. It is in fact all the more surprising and remarkable here to see occasional variations emerging within what is otherwise such wilfully and perversely monotonous material. Enigmatic, iconic, and cinematic images appear side by side entire sets whose often elegant, low-key treatment belies the unutterable banality of their subject matter and compels the viewer to seriously question whether this guy thinks he's some kind of fashion editorial paparazzo for autistic robot space aliens. Skirting a blurred line between inspiration and dementia, one is thus left baffled and perplexed as to whether this oeuvre represents merely an ongoing commentary on the tragicomic impasse of the human condition, or an obscure though genuine effort to forge an original aesthetic.
