Some of my favourite subjects are trees and woodlands. Trees provide us with food, shelter, shade and fuel but also possess a natural beauty of form. This is not only true for a single tree but also for woodlands and tree-filled landscapes as well as for the individual elements that make up a tree – its fruit, seeds, buds, flowers, leaves and bark. My photographs try to capture some of this beauty and convey the pleasure I feel in the presence of trees and woodlands or when I'm up "on the tops" - my other passion is walking in the hills.

I particularly enjoy making prints from my photographs and I have tried to develop a style that moves away from the traditional photograph towards a more “painterly” effect. To achieve this I make extensive use of heavily textured, cotton mould papers displayed in glassless frames or larger composite artworks. I exhibit at art fairs and galleries, I undertake commissions and sell online through my website.
