Very keen (my wife would say fanatic!) photographer. Most of my experience has been with wildlife (especially birds), people and events but am keen to learn more about other genres and photograph everything.

Born and spent my early years in Tanzania, so Africa is in my blood and I manage to get out there most years. I am lucky in that I usually get paid to go to Africa taking tourists to see the wildlife and wild places.

Live in Lochwinnoch, Scotland (about 18 miles SW of Glasgow) and managed a nature reserve (RSPB Lochwinnoch) as a day job for 20 years. Now retired.

Use Canon 5DMk2, 7D, 40D and 400D. Variety of lenses from 10mm to 400mm. Have a home studio and portable lights too.

I find photographs that have a bit of information associated with them much more interesting than just a title. Not cut & pasted info, but personal preferably. As a minimum, even just a location adds to the picture significantly in my opinion. I dislike very obvious or large watermarks and am unlikely to comment on such images
