January 2015

Its been a 6 months since the last update and a year since I started learning photography. Lately, I feel much more at ease shooting and editing. I'm starting to feel cramped with the equipment I have, but this may just be a plateau that I've landed on. I want to challenge myself shooting things I'm unfamiliar and uncomfortable with such as portraits and architecture. Time management seems to be an issue, and school is taking up pretty much all of my time.

As always, I'm constantly finding talented photographers on flickr. It never ceases to amaze me how massive talent pool is here.

There seems to be an absolutely endless amount of talent here. The more time I spend on here, the more I feel inadequate. Motivation for improvement and confidence are hard to maintain at the same time.

On a more positive note, I am beginning to see flashes of improvement in my own photos. A few of these photos are starting to look like how I envisioned them to be, and I find that I am satisfied by the end result, although these instances are still rare. Not sure if that last sentence made any sense at all.

Just started learning photography. Any critiques are welcome. There are just so many talented photographers on this site to be inspired by. I hope I might one day be a fraction as good as you guys. I hope one day I can create something you will enjoy as much as I have enjoyed your work. Seriously, BRAVO!

My progression in my own opinion:

Stage 1 - Unconscious incompetence: Complete.

Stage 2 - Conscious incompetence: In Progress.

Stage 3 - Conscious competence.

Stage 4 - Unconscious competence.
