About Me:

Educated in Toowoomba, Richard Wood became an Chartered Accountant in March 1993 and retired on 5 February 2010.

For 14 of those years he owned his own consulting firm and was a leading provider of comprehensive credit risk management and business forecasting solutions to banks, financial institutions, accounting firms, and corporations.

His company's comprehensive technology enabled the analysis, monitoring, and management of financial performance and credit worthiness at a business and portfolio level.

When Richard retired he was serving more than 2500 customers in 21 countries worldwide.

At the request of business associates, and due to retirement boredom, Richard continues to write his newsletter ''Z-News'' -- a compendium of information on business, finance, economics and social and political issues worldwide.

Richard was also one of twelve commentators in the world recognised for predicting the GFC. As a government advisor to many nations, he fast gained a reputation in policy circles as the go-to man in GFC hotspots.

Currently, Richard is regularly published in newspapers like the 'Wall Street Journal', 'Australian Financial Review' and 'The Australian'. He is a frequent commentator on television and radio, including as panellist on ABC1's current affairs program 'Q&A' and Triple J's program 'The Hack'.

In 2009 he was recognised by Australia's national daily broadsheet, 'The Australian', as one of the ten emerging leaders of Australian society.
