Quite, would rather be outside than in, bird lover.

I have taken pictures all of my life but they were lacking the composition and elegance a true photographer would strive for. My film equipment over the years included the usual 110 pocket models, a couple of Polaroids and a Chinon 35mm. I have boxes full of prints from these cameras but they are all just pictures. I came into the digital world about 14 years ago with a 1.5 mega pixel Canon but my pictures lacked the finesse that I was wanting to achieve. I got my Canon SX10 in June of 09 and started studying the work of others in offices, stores and homes. A good friend of mine told me about Flickr and he introduced me to a world I never knew existed. I can now look at hundreds of photos a night and try to judge just what makes them good or sometimes not so good. I feel I am making some progress and as my "eye" improves my pictures are also. I have a long way to go and I still consider myself a picture taker and not a photographer. Hopefully, with the help and support from my wife, my friends and the Flickr community, I will be as good a photographer as I want to be.
