I have two countries I call home. Croatia and England. Done a lot of analogue photography in my early years and teens with my dad's Zorki 4, then Praktica TTL and Asahi Pentax K1000 and MX in late 70's and early 80's. Unfortunately, many beautiful B&W and colour negatives and photos from that era vanished in the war in 1991. For over 3 decades in England, I settled for various bridge cameras and phones for my family photos and occasional burst of artistic flair. Last year, the hardest in my life, made me re-evaluate everything I did or didn't do over the years. When my gorgeous wife and soulmate of 50 years passed away from one of the worst hidden and lethal cancers, yes, the dreaded pancreatic adenocarcinoma, my whole world collapsed and apart from very close, strong family, the only thing that kept me going was photography. I bought myself a jacket with a slogan: 'Photography is my therapy' and as much as it sounds like a cliché, it is the truth. When I'm out and about, looking around or through the lens, I can see things the way I want to see them and then work with images for hours. Never been one for sharing anything, not active on usual social media either but I felt the urge to start sharing my photos and looking at what others want to share. I guess it is not only therapeutic but also extremely educational and inspirational. So, let me take you on my journey with hope that you will enjoy some of photos I post. In return, I'm sure I will find plenty of yours to fill me with joy too. Thank you for reading this, Zack.
