I’m a filmmaker and photographer based in New York City with a strong background in dramatic narrative structure. My passion lies in illuminating underexposed topics and inciting social change through various forms of channels, including mobile and interactive platforms.

Story

The simplest definition of something that is good, is something that is sincere and daring.

The world has used story since the inception of information exchanges to remember key information. I am and always have been a student of story, reading and subscribing to narrative theories ranging from Greek philosophers to modern-day gods of the silverscreen. Story is the backbone of all effective communications and what I put as the number one priority in anything I am involved in.

Aesthetics

I am obsessed with pushing visual aesthetics to their boundaries in order to create beautiful images that are rarely achieved, whether it is throwing countless adapters onto a HD camera for a full cinematic experience or modifying Zeiss medium-format still film cameras from 1936 for an organic, antiqued feel.

Traveler

To understand your place, you must understand what surrounds you.

I’ve made it a significant focus in my life to travel and genuinely experience as many cultures and viewpoints as I can from around the world. My travels have included visits and stints of residency in over 22 countries in five continents. I have slept in cacao fields in Nicaragua, meditated to Tantric chants of the Gyuto Monastery in India, played digeridoos with an Aborigine friend in the Outback, farmed with children in a school garden in Malawi, engaged in friendly political debates in Russia and swapped embarrassing stories with locals while watching the sunset over the Himalayas in Nepal. These experiences have transformed me and given focus to my life.

Geek

I am a bit of a technology geek. I love utilizing technologies to communicate faster, solve production issues creatively, reduce costs and most importantly – make the story shine brightly. My expertise spans everything from online distribution, collaborative software to the newest advances in camera technology. I am the “go-to” guy for technology questions for countless filmmakers, reporters and organizations around the world – as far reaching as the Himachal Pradesh provence of India.

Besides my projects and contributing to various independent projects, some of my clients include Travel Channel, Elizabeth Arden, Arts Engine, Aol., US State Department, Acumen Fund, Working Films, Transient Pictures, Rosenblum TV, Fly Communications Ad Agency, Bridges to Community, CancerCare and the Media That Matters Film Festival.
