"...is it not rather that art rescues nature from the weary and sated regard of our senses, and the degrading injustice of our anxious every-day life, and, appealing to the imagination...reveals Nature in some degree as she really is, and as she represents herself to the eye of the child, whose every-day life, fearless and unambitious, meets the true import of the wonder-teeming world around him, and rejoices therein without questioning?"
~ George MacDonald, Phantastes
As a child, I always loved playing with a camera, shooting pictures of family, friends, pets, farm animals, buildings — anything. After leaving my love behind during college, that passion was reawakened with the purchase of a Canon Powershot A80 quite a few years ago. A few equipment upgrades later, I now find my focus is visual optimism, looking to classic cars, architecture, nature, and vintage Americana to remind us of who we were, are, and should continue to be.
Thankfully, my husband is very patient and kind about my always having a camera wherever we go, and my insistence on photographing anything that captures my fancy. I hope you enjoy my work!

When I'm not writing, shooting, baking, singing, reading, sewing up a dress from a vintage pattern, playing in the garden, or doing other Jen things (and sometimes during those things), I dream about moving down South or out to Texas, starting a shoppe of some sort (believe me, I have several great ideas), buying a pretty little house that sits on a verdant hill before rescuing a horse or three. How much any of these hobbies and desires are related to my O'Hara heritage is uncertain.
"God is glorified not only by His glory’s being seen, but by its being rejoiced in. When those that see it delight in it, God is more glorified than if they only see it. His glory is then received by the whole soul, both by the understanding and by the heart.
"God made the world that He might communicate, and the creature receive, His glory; and that it might [be] received both by the mind and heart. He that testifies his idea of God’s glory [doesn’t] glorify God so much as he that testifies also his approbation of it and his delight in it. "

Jen has a gracious, poetic sensibility to go along with her very good eye for color, composition and interest; she takes wonderful photos! But even more importantly, she preserves bygone beauty, whether of objects or spirit. There's not enough of that going around these days, so thank heaven we have her!
Jen has an artistic knack for creatively capturing the beauty of the moment or object, whether it be her cat, her crafts, her cooking, classic cars, or a beautiful landscape. She's one classy dame, I tell ya! :)
