Visiting and exploring the remarkable wilderness of the American West has been a lifelong source of enjoyment for me. Several years ago I began carrying a camera on my many wanderings, and through its lens I found a new focus. Photography allows me to capture and share the landscapes and wildlife that I love, while also encouraging me to discover new places, to venture out in rough weather, and to see and consider the land in different light.

My pursuit of compelling images gives me a little shove out of the city and up a mountain trail or down a desert canyon. And the city in which I live, Las Vegas (a landscape of neon lights), is a surprisingly great spot from which to explore the natural landscapes of the American West. The desert Southwest is close at hand--Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands, Death Valley, the Escalante, and a thousand sparkling points between. Mountains are enticingly close--Sierra Nevada, Wasatch, Yellowstone & the Tetons, the big sky of Montana and the high peaks of Colorado.

I use photography to share a sense of the wonder and inspiration I feel when visiting these amazing places. I work to capture moments when the landscape comes alive--in a brewing storm, at a vibrant daybreak, bathed in golden sunshine. I photograph and portray each scene with an aim of authenticity, using the light, color and clarity that nature presents. I'm motivated by moments of wild, natural beauty that are temporary and true. I hope you're able to see that faithful spirit in the images, and maybe feel a little shove, too.
