hi and hello

my name is yves and since january 2009 i started to enjoy photographing. at the very fist glance taking pictures was something to create some distraction to focus on different subjects contrary to the daily routine but with time being i noticed that there's a lot more to discover than just snapshooting around - every single time i visit flickr that comes to my mind and flickr itself automatically became a part of the addiction enhancing and accelerating the demand for seeing and taking great pictures.

i am pretty much overwhelmed by the shere endless amount of beauty and cultural diversity the world has to offer and all of you in combination with flickr deliver a little glimpse into this treasure chest showing the real beauty that lies beyond.

my equipment is a seven year old canon powershot s30 (three megapixels) which may sound poor but yet delivers quite decent results which are of course not to be compared with nowadays dslr-cameras but for my taste offers a great balance between portability and quality; my wallet is also happy but for how long? i'm planning to buy a nikon d90 in the course of time.
