I get made fun of for taking approximately 300 photos on every day that I am traveling. I just like doing it. I carry a camera with me a lot, but I have never taken a class. Snap things I like. And sometimes take my time to find angles and composition that look the best, focusing, working with the colors, and so on. It helps when you've got great subject matter. Prefer landscapes and macro to people because I do not want to be intrusive to people's space.
