Welcome to the photostream of George (Yrjö) Julin!

I am an amateur photographer from Finland.

I love photographing birds especially in the Finnish Archipelago in the Baltic Sea, where I spend a lot of my free time. On my morning rounds paddling with the kayak I always have my camera ready for the birds, my favorite one being the White-tailed Eagle. On every kayaking session I feel connected to the nature and its wonders.

I also make birding trips to the different parts of the Archipelago with my fully aluminium motor boat "Ardea". The grey aluminium boat resembles the Grey Heron, Ardea cinerea.

I develope my photos with Lightroom Classic program.

I carry my camera, currently a Nikon D850 and my favorite lens Nikkor AF-S 500 mm f/5,6 E PF, with me even on my trips to different parts of the world. I love photographing wild life on adventures both on land and at seas.

Two brothers, Erkki and Martti Perämäki, have as my cousins inspired me in my hobby. In addition Erkki has introduced me to adventure motorbiking. However, now as retirees we have left the motorcycling behind us. Even on our motorbike trips we carried our cameras with us.
